The Mystic Krewe of Olympia held their 45th Annual Ball at the Castine Center in Mandeville on Saturday January 16.  The New Orleans Saints were the main theme of the night as many of the decorations were in black and gold.  The Krewe even brought in two large screen projectors to broadcast the game at the Castine Center as the Saints played the Arizona Cardinals in the divisional round of the playoffs.  Following the presentation of the King and Queen and her court, everyone at the Ball enjoyed a great night of music and dancing.  The Krewe of Olympia will hold their parade on Saturday February 6 at 6pm.

Buddy and D’Andra had their engagement party this past Saturday and I was humbled when they invited me to attend.  One of the many pleasures of my work is the ability to meet new people and forge new friendships with the clients I film and photo.  I knew when I first met Buddy and D’Andra that they were good people and after meeting their family and friends I know that they are very special people and an important part to the lives of their family and friends.  I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with them and can’t wait to start filming their love story and save the date sessions this week.

Who Dat! The Saints are in the Super Bowl.

Over the Christmas holidays, I traveled to Baton Rouge to start production on the videos I have planned for Lynsey and Brad’s wedding this May. Both of them are graduates of LSU and wanted to bring Baton Rouge to their wedding. We filmed and took photos at their favorite spots on campus and everything turned out great. They are getting married on May 29, 2010 and below is their Save the Date Video

Anthony and Yvonne Hymel had their 50th Wedding Anniversary Dinner this past Friday and I had the pleasure of showing them their video slideshow.  For the past several months, I worked with their daughters Beth, Kathleen, and Angele on creating this very special video for the parents.  Scanning over 200 pictures and even more digital pictures to sort through, we came up with a nostalgic 25 minute video that documents the history of their family and their future with all of their grandchildren.  It was a very special night and below is my favorite part to the slideshow.  Congrats to Anthony and Yvonne for 50 years of marriage.

Jami and Dale were our first wedding of 2010 and it started with their rehearsal dinner on Friday Night. We showed their love story video and then Jami presented Dale with his wedding present. He was shocked when he opened his present and saw an NCO sword. Dale is an ex marine and love his gift.

We then came back for the wedding at Hillcrest Baptist Church and followed it with the reception at the Franklinton Country Club and the whole night was a joyous celebration of the beginning of the life together.

To say that Elise wasn’t nervous before her rehearsal dinner speech to Brianna and Bryce was an understatement.  She was Brianna’s Maid of Honor as they have been friends since high school.  Despite her nervous and having some liquid courage before, Elise nailed her speech as she recited a poem she wrote for the happy couple.
