I thought my 2013 Wedding Season concluded with Legrande and Kristy’s wedding but I was mistaken when I received an email from Michele checking on my availability for her wedding. Thankfully I was free and this was a fun wedding to shoot.

This was the first Jewish wedding ceremony I ever filmed and one of the great things about being a wedding professional is the exposure you get from filming different types of wedding ceremonies and traditions.  I enjoyed learning something new and being able to film this wedding was a great experience for me.

Michele and Ben were a great couple to work with and getting a chance to meet their family and friends made it better.  Michele asked that I walk around and try to get well wishes from her family and friends at the reception and normally guests are shy to talk to the camera, but not Michele and Ben’s guests.  All were willing to grab the mic and step in front the camera and wish the newlyweds their best.  It was wonderful and every interview spoke on how good Michele and Ben were as friends, as a brother and sister and just how good people they were.I enjoyed getting these soundbites and hearing them again during the edit process.

I can now say that my 2013 Wedding Season is now concluded with Michele and Ben and please enjoy their wedding montage above and can’t wait for my 2014 Wedding Year to start

The first time I met Erica and Sean, I knew something was up. They couldn’t stop smiling and laughing during our wedding consult and all this was going on at 8 in the morning. As we sat there and talked about their wedding, I knew that their day as going to be a blast.

Erica and Sean brought that same happy attitude to their Engagement Session last week at Audubon Park and they were a blast to work with.  Sean has to be one of the funniest grooms I’ve ever met and it was difficult to keep a straight face on when he decided to do something silly for the camera.  I can only imagine how fun their wedding will be and they said numerous times that their wedding will be the best day of their lives.

Erica and Sean are getting married on April 13 and I can’t wait to be a small part of their day when I film their wedding at the Fleur de Lis Center in Mandeville.  To view more photos from their session, please click here

My last session of 2012 was a family sister shoot with Sarah, Emily, and Amanda.  It was fun times and one of the best things about this session is that Sarah is one of my former volleyball players and I’ve known her since her freshman year in high school.  It’s always special for me to work with one of past players and I even coached Sarah during a club volleyball season.  That’s how far back we go.

Another great thing about this shoot was getting to know her sisters Emily and Amanda.  One of the life lessons I’ve learned from my grandfather was getting to know your clients and I have used that as the basis for DVB.  Just like Sarah, Emily and Amanda are great girls and all three of them were very friendly camera friendly.  I noticed during the shoot that Amanda, the youngest of the three, is the wild child and climbed up a tree for her solo pictures.  It made for a great shot and the look on Sarah and Emily as she went up on the tree was priceless.

The one thing I haven’t mentioned is that Sarah is getting married in 2014 and this was just one of many photo and film sessions that I have planned for Sarah, her family, and her fiancee Ray.  I had a great time with these sisters and I can’t wait to be a small part of Sarah’s wedding and capture their moments on film and photos.  To view more photos from their session, please visit our Facebook page at this link

One of the first things I noticed when meeting Sarah for her consultation last summer was the amount of energy she had.  She was fast thinking, fast moving, and generally thinking out loud for ideas for her own wedding video when I was showing her samples of my work.  I loved the energy that she brought to our meeting.

She had that same energy when I filmed her Save the Date Video with her fiancée Kevin.  It was a gorgeous day to film and Sarah was ready to run and she ran a lot.  One of the funnier moments of the day was watching Sarah try to recreate one of their outings at the park and she just wiped out.  Kevin and I couldn’t stop laughing and we laughed for a few moments.

Sarah and Kevin are getting married on June 1, 2013 and you can view their wedding website at colesgunn.ourwedding.com

Words can’t describe Allyce and Brady’s Wedding but I’m going to try in this blog post.  The one thing I remember Allyce and Brady telling me was that they wanted a fun wedding video and the fun started at the Rehearsal Dinner at Superior Grill.  It was one of the funniest rehearsal dinners I’ve been too and Brady’s twin brother Cory started the wedding activities right with an awesome best man speech.  You can view his speech at this link

Everything about Allyce and Brady’s Wedding was fun.  They were both laid back and calm throughout their prep and their wedding at Holy Name of Jesus was beautiful.  The reception was at the nearby Audubon Tea Room and continued the fun theme.  They had a photo booth which creates silliness and fun photos and had a band that just rocked the house.  I can’t say enough words how great Louisiana Spice was at the reception.  They totally rocked and I enjoyed working again with CheyAnne from Arte De Vie as she taking all her great photos.  Fun, that’s the one word that describes Allyce and Brady’s wedding and I’m proud to be a small part of their day.  Please enjoy their closing montage video and I wish nothing but the best for Allyce and Brady.

It’s not often that I get to film a wedding at my local church, but on Stephanie and Michael’s Day I was able to.  I attend mass at St. Francis of Assissi and have always wondered how good the church would look on film.  To no surprise, it was gorgeous for Stephanie and Michael’s Wedding.  St. Francis is such a pretty church and I was surprised to learn that my next door neighbor is the wedding coordinator there.

Stephanie and Michael had a great wedding at the church and their reception at the nearby Audubon Tea Room was exceptional.  Louisiana Spice provided great entertainment with their sound and it’s always a pleasure to work to Kevin at Creative Images.  I enjoyed Stephanie and Michael’s Day and one of the funnier parts of the day was seeing Michael get down on the dance floor to a Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean and he even used a hat for his prop during the dance.  Fun times.  Please enjoy their highlight montage above and I wish Stephanie and Michael nothing but the best, they had a fantastic wedding day.

Everything was perfect when Dalene, her entourage, and I went out for her Bridal Portrait Session this past April.  When she told me that she wanted her session at Audubon Park, I was excited as Audubon is my favorite place to shoot.  There are so many great places at Audubon Park and we a blast going around the park.

It’s always fun to take Bridal Portraits because you’re never at a loss of suggestions.  The mother wants this shot, the Maid of Honor likes this pose, and the best friend will suggest this.  Every suggestion I got was great and Dalene was a rock star throughout the whole day.  In between all the snaps that was taken and footage filmed, Dalene just kept saying thank you to all the “your beautiful” and “congratulations” shout outs from the walkers and runners from the track.  It was fun and I just love doing these.

Dalene is  great person and she had her destination wedding last Saturday in Honduras.  I can’t wait for her and Paul’s New Orleans Style Reception at the Audubon Tea Room with all her friends and family who couldn’t attend the wedding in Honduras.  It’s going to be a great time and a second chance for Dalene and Paul to have the time of their life

“I know her” was the common theme of the night when I first met Robert and Caroline during their wedding consultation.  Almost every video sample I showed Robert and Caroline, she would say “I know her”  It became even more comical when I showed her photos on my iPad and she kept saying I know her, her too.  Caroline basically knew about 3/4 of all my brides.

To add to the six degrees of separation, she played volleyball in high school and played against my brother  during her playing days and even knows some of my contacts in my volleyball coaching circles.  It was pretty amazing and neat that we had so much in common from brides to volleyball.  I knew that this would be a perfect match between us and me.

On Father’s Day, I met Robert and Caroline for their engagement session at Audubon Park and it was a picture perfect day.  We took photos all over the park and even managed to hop on the golf course to snap a few on the green.  It was a great day and I even got to met Robert’s son and take some photos of them on this Father’s Day.  It was perfect.

I can’t wait to get started on even more pre-wedding sessions with Robert and Caroline.  They are scheduled to get married on March 23, 2013 at St. Rosalie’s Church in Harvey.

I often make it a point to get to know my couples during their wedding planning process.  This allows me to know my clients better and to become friends with them.  Over the course of this past year, I have become good friends with Katherine and Brian.  Last Saturday all three of us started the last of their pre-wedding videos with their love story shoot at Audubon Park.  It was a beautiful day to film and shoot and everything that I wanted to get done got done.

Katherine and Brian are my friends and have been awesome to work with. I can’t wait to show their love story video at their rehearsal dinner and then document their wedding on April 1 at St. Francis Xavier and the Champagne Palace.  Below are a few shots from our session at Audubon Park.  For more photos from the session, please visit our facebook fan page.
